Thinking out loud

Occasionally, I do believe I get a bit overwhelmed with all the changes and events going on in today’s world. From world events to cars to gas to computers and the internet everything just seems to be changing too fast to keep up with. I mean even the grass seems to be growing faster these days. I cut it for the first time this season yesterday which was warm and sunny and today it almost needs it again and it was only in the low 50′s. On the internet, Google and Microsoft are offering so many online services one doesn’t even know where to start looking let alone chose one of ‘em and it’s not only geared toward the younger set, say 20′s and early 30′s, but it seems to have been all created by them too. The images of all the “teams” of this that or the other online service always seem to resemble a “Here’s me and my friends on my first day of college” picture-sent-home to me these days but I suppose that’s to be expected. I can see the feeling behind some of those young faces and I can easily remember when I felt the same way back then when computers were new, the PC was still on the drawing board and Bill Gates was just fresh out of college.

I’m far from quitting of course but I don’t think I’m going to concern myself too much about the newest thing peeking it’s head around the corner or the latest online service being offered like I used to and I definitely could not care less about any new gaming console.

To me, getting to work every day and hoping I can afford to keep putting gas into my old Jeep Cherokee is enough to keep me occupied for now.

See you all tomorrow.

Quick note on other things…

Patrick Kennedy’s “disorientation”: Heavens to Betsy, I’m just SHOCKED!

Google and child porn: Oh grow up. Read this.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: (OK. I’m late on this one. I’ve been busy). Aaaarrgghh!!! Enough already. He’s absolutely loony. Loving and harmless but absolutely loony.

Mission Impossible III: Can they possibly hype a movie any further? Do you want to make a bet?

Apple’s BootCamp: Whatever…Read this.

Every cruise ship that’s put to sea in the last three months has either been shot at, sunk or caught on fire.

The news is now chasing after every mine disaster that occurs on the planet rather than the just being the usual ambulance, police cruiser, fire truck chasing morons that they’ve always been.

A new Cold war? Guess all us old Cold war submariners (you know…the ones you’ve never heard about nor ever will) just had all our time spent out there wasted for us.

Other than that, the weather has been warm and friendly, things are turning green, I’m back at work full time and life is good.

later…

One armed paper hanger

Busy these days. Hardly have any time at all to do things like post to the blog but such things (!) that have been accomplished and so many things happening out in the world from gas to Google but later for that.

Long Meadow Farms quilt shop is coming along nicely; counter?s finished, security cameras are set up, sewing and quilting machinery have been hauled over and setup in the back room, refrigerator, microwave, music, telephones, room divider, shelves, quilt racks (pant-pant-pant) and most built by us except for the appliances of course. One sign has been hung on the front of the shop (hand made by my honey) and the professionally done sign (designed by the same) should be here by next week then?opening day on the 15th! Woof-Woof(!) I say.

Of course we may both be so exhausted from the whole process of setting up and getting ready that we?ll need something to hold us up. Laurie at her shop and me at work. Any broomsticks handy?

OK. Pictures of the whole wonderful thing will be coming after everything is set up and ready for anyone that might be interested meanwhile?back to work.

See ya??
