Ok, the sidebar is better and good enough for now. I disabled the Sidebar widget and installed and activated the SBM (Sidebar Module) plugin which adds some extra functionality that Sidebar widget doesn’t have.
For one thing, the Sidebar widget doesn’t seem to show any link categories except those listed under blogroll when used with this theme. Installing SBM solved this problem. I’m sure the other widget works fine with other themes which is way things always go for example; SBM “navigation” modules break the entire site until they are removed from the sidebar.
In my experience with beta testing IE 7.0 and Firefox 2.0 I’ve found out the hard way what add-ons, extensions and plugins can do to a happily running program or site and the fixing thereof. Fortunately, only the three of the SBM “navigation” modules break the site and all the rest of the modules appear to work fine.
Another lesson learned although I’m sure that school is far from letting out for the day.
Now I’m off to Long Meadow Farms Quilt Shoppe to see what kind of trouble I can get into there.
More fun coming up I’m sure.
