Playing with themes again

Posted by Kirk M on 10 Dec 2006 | Tagged as: Blogging

Ed Merritt, author of the Ocean Mist theme is still amongst the missing and there are still things about the theme that are “built in” by him which I have a problem with such as automatic text wrapping around images including smilies which doesn’t allow me to format image placement myself and no default page navigation to name a couple problems and the page navigation I added is adequate but not what I prefer.

Ed had announced a new up and coming version 1.2 in the works and then his website disappeared. Also, when it did the link to Ed’s site that runs while loading the blog messed up all my image links so (and no offense to Ed at all), until his site is back up and the new version is out I’ll go with another theme until then. Still putzin’ around though so as usual…please bear with me.

Oh BTW…the comments section in this particular theme has trackback urls included if you need them.

    Hi Becky,

    Good to hear from you. I just got back from from having same day surgery so I’ll play the game when I fully recover from the stuff they pumped into me (about 24 hours).

    Happy holidays.

    I was trying to get the images to work without messing up the entire post (I’m using Ocean Mist). I finally found an answer that worked though.

    It’s comment #59:

    I posted this problem at the Wordpress.org forums and someone was nice to find the solution.

    Just go to style.css, find and delete the following line.

    p img {float: left; margin: 0 18px 12px 0;}

    That’s it!
