You may have been wondering why I haven't posted recently about Long Meadow Farms Quilts lately. Well, besides the holidays which usually slow things down a bit, there were a few items that needed to be attended too.
First, a permanent photography setup of some kind had to be set up to take the place of the temporary one that was setup in the library, torn down and set up again on a regular basis. This, as you might imagine, got old real fast so down to the basement we went and installed the bar that held the back drop, up into the overhead. My honey then attached the back drop, ran over some power via an extension cord, up went the lights and viola(!); a homespun photo studio. It's not real pretty but it works just fine.
The second item after that was the taking of pictures of the various new items. Something that was a bit overdue. A bag full of new stuff comes home every night from the shop and is setup down below in the "studio". Pictures are then taken and all of those new pictures are then transferred to her computer for uploading to her website (which she manages herself by the way). This brings us to the third bit of news.
It's been awhile now since Laurie has wanted to revamp her website. The current layout is more than a few years old and a bit of a face lift is definitely needed especially with all the new images being added on. A bit more "ease of use" is in the works also. Now this isn't all going to happen at once of course. After all, there's a store to mind as well so all the above items happen after the work day is over and on the weekends (she's finally taking Sunday's off) and it's just barely begun.
Be that as it may, the website will be redone page by page and when all is satisfactory, the new page will be uploaded etc etc. No huge changes are planned, just some needed tightening up and upgrading.
I'll be posting the latest offerings as they come out of the "studio" as it were. The first most likely right after I finish this post.
