Weather gone crazy
Jan 19th, 2007 by Kirk M
Such weather we have been having this winter. Not just up here in the Northeast Kingdom where it's recently been more like late fall until a few days ago but just about everywhere else as well.
Michigan getting dumped on with 270,000+ without power just a few days ago, Oklahoma full of ice and snow and more on the way and southern California getting it's oranges frozen right off the trees for heavens sake.
Now it's northern Europe and a huge storm that battered the stuffing out of it and caused wide spread damage from the British Isles to the Dutch country and everything in between. Check out these storm pictures from the BBC-News In Pictures feature about this rather nasty event.
Things seem to be getting mighty weird in the weather department these days.

I just saw last night on the news the video coming out of London of severe wind, absolutely unreal! Will check out the link you posted. Snowing here again in Michigan and still cold. Wish I didn’t have to get out and drive in this stuff but oh well, been living in the North my entire life guess I should be accustomed to it by now.
Elaine:
Yup…snowing here too and probably will continue through the weekend according to the latest weather report. can’t complain too much though. The temps will most likely stay in the middle to upper 20’s for the next few days or so. Easy on the old fuel oil and such. Be careful driving (got AWD by any chance?)
Rhea:
(God I miss Faneuill Hall! food, food, food…oh…sorry). Hmmm…I have to wonder if there’s anything we *can* do at this point.
Enjoy your SunSnow.
Becky,
Glad to hear from you. We were concerned for your well being considering what all of you have been going through with that huge storm trying to rearrangement the European countryside. Good to hear your okay.
I do have to wonder though how much we as the human race, have contributed (and we definitely have done our share) to what might be the natural cycle of things. I can bet that we’ve sped up the process by a significant margin.
Mother nature will only tolerate so much messing around with the order of things before she decides to “clean house” so to speak.
Anyway, happy here that you’re alright. Hope all your friends and family made it through unscathed as well.
