Scribefire 1.4 Released. PFF resurrected at last.

After a long hiatus, the Performancing For Firefox blog editor (PFF) has returned with a new version and a new name as well—Scribefire. The development has been picked up by Chris Finke of Now I Have A Blog Too. Here’s the excerpt about him from his sidebar:
Chris Finke is a Netscape developer, Web software enthusiast, and Time Magazine’s 2006 Man of the Year. More about me…
Ask me if I’m happy about this.
Go ahead…ask me.
The answer is a resounding YES! (Yeah, I know…doesn’t take much.)
This little guy has to be the best “pinch hit” blog editor I’ve ever used. If I want heavy duty functions, features, options and imaging capabilities etc, I’ll fire up Window Live Writer but honestly, the majority of my posts in the past have been done with the old PFF editor and now I have a new version and more updates on the way.
I found this strictly by happenstance and frustration as well due to the lack of info from the Performancing Group concerning the new editor. Back on the 28th of January, Performancing put out a call for developers who might be interested in continuing the development of this fine little blog editor and after that announcement, nothing else further was posted. Considering it was Performancing that introduced this extremely popular blog editor to the world in the first place, I find it puzzling there has been no follow up on Performancing’s website on the new release. As usual, Googling around did the trick and I am now writing this post in the new ScribeFire editor.
You can download Scribefire from Mozilla’s new Add-ons Preview site that is supposed to go live on the 15th of March by what I understand.
It’s amazing how the smallest things can make your day and good job and thank you to Chris Finke for his efforts.
