It was and absolutely beautiful day up here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. In fact, it was so beautiful that after I got done mowing the lawn, I drove down to the lake a snapped a couple of photos just so I wouldn’t miss it. I swear the water was as blue as the sky if not more so.
So I decided to share part of this gorgeous afternoon and let you see for yourself.
This is looking up the lake towards Canada, which extends 27 miles ending at the lakefront town of Magog on the Canadian side.
And this one is looking towards the right at our local camp ground; Prouty Beach, where all the “down country” people with their motor coaches come to play during the summer.
I’ve missed more good photos this summer just because I couldn’t get into the habit of taking my old Kodak digital camera with me when I had to go out and about. Of course if I had done that I probably would have never gotten to my destination for shootin’ pictures.
To wit:
What did they say at the VA, honey?
Don’t know Love, never got there. But I took some great photos!
Okay…so maybe it was a good idea to leave the camera ta’ home then, ay? Anyway, hope you like the pics.

These are great pictures Kirk ! What a beautiful day. What time is it dark there now? I noticed tonight it’s pitch black at 8:00
and I’m ready to put jammies on and hunker down for the night, though I resisted. Winter is not far away.
Hi Elaine,
Yeah, same here…dark by 8:00 pm. I’m having a bad case of seasonal denial that’s for sure. Usually by this time of the year I’ve resigned myself to the inevitable and beginning to feel holiday-ish. Not this time. How about a nice long Indian summer? Like until May of next year?
Lovely place (and great pics!). Have to find a reason to visit this region some time.
I guess the pictures are reason enough; just have to find an excuse since I just came of a vacation.
Hi Shantanu,
You’re welcome anytime although I suggest the warm season rather than the dead of winter. It can get awful cold here. Just let us know you’re headed to the Northeast Kingdom and we’ll set a couple extra places at the table.
