Troubleshooting a plugin. Please forgive

Didn’t I just write up a post recently about getting into the technical end of things too much. Didn’t I state that I needed to keep a close eye on myself?
Yeah, I did. So what am I doing?. Troubleshooting a niggling problem with an otherwise great redirection plugin that takes care of eliminating stray 404 pages without having to dink around with .htaccess.
Currently I’m gathering data to send to the email author. Please be patient with me. Troubleshooting is a sickness of mine that has no cure.

Did you happen to notice that WP has update notifications for plugins hosted at WordPress Extend? Just noticed today on 2.3.

Hi Ron,
I did notice for the short time I had WP 2.3 beta 1 installed. After finding a few problems in 2.3’s canonical.php I decided to revert back to 2.2 and wait for a release candidate.
I think that update notification is going to be welcomed by a lot of folks out there and a bit of consternation for others. Especially those who hate to update.
