My honey forwarded this email to me. Looks like the seagulls in Scotland are stooping to human levels. What gets me is that he takes the same type of chips each time. Ya’ just gotta’ love this bird’s tenacity.

A seagull in Scotland has developed the habit of stealing chips from a neighborhood shop. The seagull waits until the shopkeeper isn’t looking, and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size bag of cheese Doritos.
Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by other birds.
The seagull’s shoplifting started early this month when he first swooped into the store in Aberdeen, Scotland, and helped himself to a bag of chips. Since then, he’s become a regular. He always takes the same type of chips.
Customers have begun paying for the seagull’s stolen bags of chips because they think it’s so funny.

Look how much faster the bird walks on his way out.

Go bird go, I say!

  1. Yum Cheese Doritos! Smart bird.

  2. Oh, to what depths Jonathan has fallen! On top of the world 30 years ago. Now, stealing Doritos to feed his family. :)

At least he isn’t hanging out at the local fish and chips waiting for someone to drop a fry to eat.

  3. Morning Janet,

Oh. what good eyes you have! I only got as far as identifying the bag was orange. :)

    Hey Rick,

Yes, it’s sad isn’t it. Mr. Livingston Seagull stooping to a life of crime. I wonder if that’s worse than begging in the streets like the other low life gulls do? Of course, he isn’t as young as he used to be. :D

  4. Heh! I bet the shopkeeper trained the bird. Better than advertising. :-)

  5. Hmmm, it’s possible, it’s possible. Didn’t know you could train a seagull. At least it would guarantee at least one sale a day. ;)
