Our Own Community

Community

Community. It’s everywhere. The one we live in, the one we work in, the one we play in. Sometimes our community is huge where anonymity is easy and other times our community can perhaps seem much too close for comfort. But without it, we’d be all that much poorer.

And we who have these small islands of personal blogs where we share our thoughts and joys and sorrows, we share them with yet another community. Our own special one that revolves our own unique individuality. Some of us have many, some of us only a few but all warmly welcomed and appreciated for who they are.

I’ve added a new page to Just Thinkin’. One that brings my own small but special community out in the open for anyone to visit. And each name links to their own site where they bring a small part of their lives for us to share. These are my friends and neighbors and though we may not always agree all the time (but often do), I wouldn’t be a day without them.

Where would we be without our communities?

Great post! Communities are very important, and I find myself more connected to my blog community than to the actual community where I live. Blogging for me is about making connections and friends, so I will check out your community of friends and visit some of them. And y’all are all welcome to come over and set a spell on my porch, welcome! ~susan

That porch invite sounds real good Susan!
It’s clear that “neighborliness” in today’s USA has taken a real nose dive simply due to the fact that new houses, for the most part, have no front porches attached. Having a great scenic view is hardly the only criteria for having a front porch. The main purpose used to be so the neighbors could stop by and visit without invading the sanctity of your home. :)
