The VA comes awful early in the morning.

It’s an early morning rise for me tomorrow, like a 5:30 AM wake up call. This is for someone who has had a hard time making it out of bed at 8:00 AM lately and it’s not because I’m some sort of slug-a-bed either. Which is why I’m headed down to the VA–for more testing.

Yet another step in hopefully finding a fix for this service related malady of mine. With any luck at all it will be a step in the right direction.

Anyway, just so the trip is not a total loss I’ll be stopping in at two places after the VA gets through with me, the first being the main office of the company I work for in order to drop off some broken pieces of equipment and pick up some badly needed items for our Newport store and then a stop at Quichee Gorge in order to stock up one of my wife’s quilt outlets that resides in an Antique mall down that way. With any luck, I’ll be back in Newport by 4:00 PM or so to offload any equipment at my place of work. And then back home where I have the whole weekend to recover from the trip.

Considering the shape I’m currently in, I’ll probably need it (you call that a shape?). :P

So here’s to another exciting trip down the backbone of Northern Vermont where the wild turkeys lay in wait to dive bomb the windshields of unsuspecting motorists. Where’s my rifle?

  1. Good luck at VA I know how those visits can go. Taking my dad to his Parkinsons doctor on tuesday at the VA in Denver.

If you hit a turkey put him in the freezer for Thanksgiving.

  2. Hi Micki,

Yeah, we have way too many wild turkeys around here (I don’t mean the natives :D ). My wife tells me of a time a year before I met her when a turkey dive bombed her windshield and came right through it. The only thing that saved my wife from harm was that it was raining and the darn bird hit the windshield wiper in mid sweep first. It still broke the windshield though.
