Trackbacks Blocked by Overzealous Spam Blocker
Just when you think everything is going smoothly you find out something is awry and today when I checked my Dashboard I noticed I had a few new incoming links displayed in Google’s Blog search box as well as Technorati’s. So what the hell happened to the trackbacks that were supposed to be there.
Aaarrrgh!
Seems that an overzealous spam blocker (bcSpamBlock) was stopping any trackbacks dead in the water when it wasn’t supposed to. Truthfully I should have known better. For quite awhile now I’ve been using Akismet paired up with the Simple Track Back Validation plugin which has effectively taken care of any spam for me and I should have smarter than to have added anything else to the mix.
Anyway, in light of this I want to thank Andy Beard, Liz Strauss and “d” from “Did I say that?” for linking into the respective posts here at Just Thinkin’. Lord knows I don’t need to be turning anyone away and I certainly don’t wish for these fine folks to think I’m not paying attention or ignoring them so thanks again everyone. Glad I’m actually saying something worthwhile.
