Moving the furniture and About the Big Lake

Taking a break and doing some housekeeping, dusting and moving the bits and pieces around a bit. Be back with it in a few.

Update: Man! Now that was quite a move and I’m bushed! What ever posses ed me to change the theme entirely is beyond me but since I put so much work into it, I guess it needed changing.

The scene at the top is of Lake Memphremagog (Memphre-who?) on which Newport, VT resides on the southern end. The lake is over 27 miles long and around 25 and a half of those miles reside in Canada. So any of the fish you might catch over the border only bite lures made in Canada and they generally only speak French Canadian type fish lingo so most American fisherman have to have not only a fish finder along with them but one that understands French Canadian as well…

And with that, I’m going to bed. G’night…

  1. Wow I like the new look alot!! Nice job Kirk. I am sick of my look too and need something new but can’t find or make anything I like. In a major slump I guess :(

  2. Thanks Elaine,

I was getting sick of the way I was going. It was working on Sixty’s install that got me to try the K2 theme again (the first time was long ago when it was full of bugs). Seems to be working just fine these days. :D

Let me know if the the “Subscribe to Comments” is still working please. I would definitely like to know.

  3. Hmmm, I don’t really like the new theme, well, it’s nice but it’s also rather generic. Sorry!

Btw, your name ‘Just Thinkin’ doesn’t come up on either the comments or posts feed. It’s just a blank space.

Oh and the ‘Newport Time’ in the sidebar shows me my time. :)

  4. Yup! That’s me alright. Kinda plain and generic. ;)

Actually I got kind of tired trying to find a theme that fit who I am (I’m a bit “unique”) so I decided that plain was the best and to let the folks figure out who I am via the content.

Thanks for the info about the feeds. I have to figure out how to put in the title and description back into my admin without having it show up on the header image. There’s got to be a way to do that.

Time? That’s funny, it shows the time for Newport here. I may have to dink with the settings at the source.

Thanks for letting me know! I depend on my firends to tell me these things and all that. :D

  5. I went back to the source (something to do with “Spaces”) and made sure it was set to east coast USA time only. It’ll be interesting to see if it still does it.

    My blog’s a travelling! :D

  6. Hi Cat,

Okay, the title and description missing was a problem at FeedBurner which I have corrected so everything should be back to normal or what passes for normal around here. (“Comments for Just Thinkin’ is working as it’s supposed to?!?). I don’t have any idea why FB dropped the blog titles but re-saving them did the trick. I initially thought it was the theme.

Thanks for keeping on eye on the workings here, You have no idea how much I value your feedback and just your plain ol’ visits as well. :)

You can tell me my theme’s plain any ol’ time! :D

  7. Ooops, I meant to say ‘Jut’ instead of ‘Just’. Nevermind, that’s fixed. Main feed titlke is still down, but who knows, might take some time.

And don’t worry, it’s my job to point out mistakes and I just can’t leave it when I get home!

  8. That’s why I depend you Cat! :)

The main feed title is up right on the top where it belongs when I check it so you may be right that it takes time to circulate around. Who knows indeed?
