Pictionary took me out!

Another soggy, gray morning in the lovely town of Newport just like every morning of the past week or so. Good thing it’s only going to last 11 minutes longer otherwise it might get a bit depressing. I’m sure I can handle the soggy, gray afternoon much better than the morning.

A rather embarrassing thing happened last night. I nearly passed out while we were playing Pictionary with my lady’s youngest son and his girlfriend. My lady and I were paired up against the two of them and had a big lead in the third game of a best 2 out of 3 set (spread over the past three days) and just before our turn came up I broke out in a cold sweat, everything turned a pale shade of red and my head began slumping to the table. Luckily I stayed consciousness long enough for Laurie to guide me down the stairs, into the house and onto the bed. I woke up 3 hours later and found she had kindly removed my hearing aids and sneakers previously so since it was around 10:00 PM anyway, I managed to undress myself and get under the covers before I passed out again. So much fun.

Personally I blame the game for this. I’m sure it was the “left-handed, with my eyes closed and don’t lift the pencil” that I rolled with that dratted blue die that took me out. Since I have absolutely no artistic ability whatsoever, my poor brain simply couldn’t handle this type of challenge and decided to black out.

I feel much better now though. Just thought you might want to know.

  1. Hi Elaine,

I don’t know for sure but it could have to do with something irritating the damaged area of my esophagus in combination with the medication I’m taking. Either that or my pants could be too tight.

One thing I do know however, is that it’s damn inconvenient. :P
