Sometimes the Bear Wins

Make up a caption. Go ahead, make one up. Should be pretty easy.

humphrey

We’ll make it a contest. After we get a bunch of captions we’ll all vote on the best one. Then we can all make up a prize for the winner.

I’m asking these folks especially and anyone they wish to bring along. It’s silly you say? So what’s wrong with being silly once in awhile. You got to be serious all the time? Sheeesh!

If I left anyone out it’s simply due to the fact that I’m rather daft. :P

Sometimes the Bear Wins — 28 Comments

  1. Hi Kirk. I saw your caption contest at open comments night. I’m locked in Aksimet’s closet over there for some reason.

    Captions:

    I love spawning season!

Who said you can’t teach an old bear new tricks?

I knew I’d love having a backyard pool!

  2. @Cat: Bet that fish would enjoy the warmth for about .002 seconds. Our food should be that easy.

@Link and Learn: Humphry’s been in the hooch? Okay…You take him down to lock-up.

@Janet: Yeah! Of course standing in an ice cold river like that would have it’s own price I’m sure.

@Elaine: Amazing what a cup of coffee can do for your captional imagination. Good one!

@Catch Her: That classic never dies. Wonder why I didn’t think of that?

@Sixty: Of course I should have realized when I added you to the post that I should expect something like that. And you didn’t let me down. If anyone wants to slap Sixty, feel free. He likes it. (He really is a great albeit slightly skewed guy though…just don’t tell Grandad I said so).

@Rick: Hey…3 for 1. My lucky day! Yup…you were stuck here too. I actually had to rebuild the comment to get you out of jail. Maybe your using too much red pepper or something. (I think old bears like old people just find easier ways of doing things. Let the young ones flap around).

Thanks everyone for your great captions so far. This is gettin’ good! :D

  3. “Uh Huh, looks like you may need a filling and a crown. You should definitely brush and floss more”.

Clever way to get people to participate Kirk. I like your new theme by the way.

  4. Hi Emma,

    Good one! :D

It was strictly a spur of the moment type thing. I doubt I could come up with anything like this on purpose. :P

I kind of like it myself and Thanks!

Sorry I haven’t been around lately. Life’s business has kept me from doing the rounds. Soon though, soon.

  5. @Emma,

You are truly an understanding lady.

    @K8,

    chuckle-snorf-snurf-ah-ah-hoo-uh-oh-eeg-ow-hurt-pain-cramp

  6. Ah…phew! Better now…

So K8, an honor to have your unusual but very appealing presence grace the pages of my blog, etc, etc. You are truly welcome. My rather twisted view on “life in general” identifies a kindred spirit, etc, etc.

I could say the same thing about Grandad and Sixty but I figure it would be wasted upon them since they couldn’t possible understand the sincerity behind the words etc, etc.

  7. Yay Liz! You made it! :D

And another good one for sure! For a spur of the moment thing it’s really been a lot of fun with all the contributions. Now I just have to figure out how to do the voting part of it.

  8. Okay…I can’t let this get away without adding my own contribution now can I?

“WHOA! ALL STOP! HARD TO PORT! LEFT FULL RUDDER! ALL BACK FULL AND TELL MANEUVERING TO CAVITATE! EMERGENCY DEEP! MAKE YOU DEPTH 150 FEET! ALL HANDS PREPARE FOR COLLISION!…”
