Windows Live Writer 2008. It’s Real and it’s Final

I’ve been using Windows Live Writer since day one and from that humble (and extremely buggy) beginning, the writer has now become worthy of a final product. There’s still a couple minor idiosyncrasies that I think should have been changed or fixed but that’s simply due to the fact that I’ve been banging around the troubleshooting end of WLW since the beginning so I’m just being picky. It’s one heck of a fine blog editor and I heartily recommend it to anyone who has one….a blog that is. Whether it be just one or many, WLW is a fine choice.
Especially for all you WordPress bloggers since with the release of WordPress 2.3.1 or higher, WP now directly supports Windows Live Writer and provides tagging support via the newly revived WLW keywords field. All I know is that it works right out of the box for anyone running a custom WP blog (2.3.1 and up) and it should also work for anyone with a WordPress.com type blog as well.
For anyone who currently uses WLW and doesn’t have the final release, you can get it via the new Windows Live Installer (see link at the beginning of the post). When I get time I’ll write up my own review of WLW which would be appropriate since I took the time to write up a couple of previous ones before. Sort of cornered myself there didn’t I?
Happy blogging all.
