And now the snow blower is busted

In light of my previous post I’ll just add that shortly after I published that post I bundled up and went out to the garage to fire up our old (newly rebuilt last year) snow blower and didn’t get one foot into the snow when I realized that the auger was not moving. Too make a long story short, the belt that runs the auger was so worn it flopped around in the breeze even when it was engaged.
For the life of me I can’t figure out how my "almost son-in-law" managed to blow out that last storm. Maybe that’s why it took him all day to do our rather small driveway and somewhat larger parking area. Maybe he should have told me that it was having a problem because he would have had to notice it. Okay, I can’t complain. He’s a responsible young man for his age and he’s been out their in the great white north moving the snow around since the winter began in earnest which me and my busted back simply can’t do any longer.
Which of course I did anyway and with a shovel too!
The fact that I’ll be all crippled up tomorrow (now) is irrelevant. It just sucks that the snow blower picked this particular moment to puke out on me. Let’s hope the local fix it shop that I rolled it too (all the way next door…great old guy) has a belt in stock. The forecast for Sunday isn’t getting any better ya’ know.
