The new DSL modem/wireless router came from Verizon today. We took down the old one, put up the new one, did the little bit of configuration stuff we needed to do…and it worked.
Bet you were waiting for a long post about how the damn thing didn’t work and that we waited forever on hold for tech support, how rude the support rep was on the phone when we were finally put through and that the new modem/wireless router was screwed up and…..
Nope, didn’t happened that way. We just hung it on the wall, turned it on, set it up and we were done. Much to my surprise I might add. Guess things have to work “out of the box” once in awhile. Anyway, yesterday’s trip to the VA wiped me out, I was worthless all day today and now I’m ready for bed.
Pitiful ain’t it?

It’s so uncommon that things work straightout of the box. I remember when I moved house and got my new ISP it was painless, just a matter of plugging things in and it was done.
I was expecting problems I guess!
Kirk,
I was dead scared when I got my first router-modem thing from AT&T. But it works like a charm (touchwood!) and was very easy to install. Just connected a couple of wires and configured the wireless and I was good to go!
@Cat,
Never, ever say anything like “No sweat! It’ll set up in no time” when a new piece of equipment arrives. Expecting problems (like I was) is always the way to go.
@Ruhi,
Scary isn’t it?
