Finally-Running on PHP 5! Now my Modem/Router’s Dying.

My host finally got around to upgrading my poor old server after they passed it by during the great “Upgrade all our Bloody Servers” operation that’s been going on for the past few months. I became a bit worried when I saw that some of the boxes that were numbered 300 and above had already been upgraded and here I was still stuck on PHP 4.4.7 and all the old versions of everything else for that matter.
But now it’s all shiny and new and so far I only had to increase the PHP memory limit for just one plugin that failed to reactivate from the original configuration. Now I’m not going to say that the site is actually running any better (it is) or that my comment posting isn’t hanging occasionally as it usually does (it hasn’t so far) or that the site loading times are faster in any way (it seems so). At least not yet. Tomorrow’s another day.
In the mean time our faithful old DSL modem/wireless router that’s been hanging on the wall faithfully pumping out DSL to our respective computers has begun cutting out at random and rather frequent intervals over the past three weeks and finally I had to call Verizon to see what could be done. After running me through a half hour’s worth of physically checking the router over too make sure that all it’s dongles were in the right place and in one piece and then another ten minutes of logging into the thing just make sure it was in it’s correct state of mind, finally determined that it was physically ill and a replacement is currently on it’s way to us free of charge.
And this is the final test to see if Windows Live Writer will publish a post with an image when the site is running on the latest version of PHP 5 (5.2.5). If you see this post it means the test was successful. If you don’t see this post then it just won’t matter will it?
