Can’t Have my and Cake and Eat it Too.

If your wondering why I haven’t really been posting much or bothering my favorite sites like I usually do, I’ve been dealing with a rather huge leap in my blood sugar level (like off the scale) over the past week or so. This of course messed me up pretty bad and came as a complete surprise since we’ve been satisfactorily controlling my blood sugar through diet for so long now I’ve only had to monitor my levels once in awhile. I’ve finally got it down below 300 using they first prescribed for me when I was first diagnosed with diabetes and I’m really hoping I can drive it down to normal levels within the next couple of days.

Hopefully my eyesight will return to normal while it’s at it.

So what’s this have to do with a cake you ask? Well, I’ll tell you.

My birthday was the 27th and I have this wonderful birthday cake that Laurie made me (German chocolate with coconut pecan frosting) and now all I can do is look at it. I only get cake once a year and now I can’t have any!

I’ll say no more since I tend to keep the swearing and cursing down to a minimum here.

I’m really sorry to hear about the blood sugar problems. Damn it’s always something isn’t it? Stay on the medication and if it doesn’t come down you better make a trip down the highway to the VA. Good luck Kirk!

Oh, I’m just having sooo much fun I can’t stand it!

Next VA trip is April 10th. Good thing they’ve recently upped the travel pay per mile for those that have to drive a long ways to get to their appointments. I can actually afford to go now.

Thanks for the well wishes, Elaine. Always appreciated.

That sucks about the cake errr I mean the blood sugar. Maybe you can do something creative with the cake. You never know what might sell on ebay.
