I don’t know if this is going to make it into the final release or not but the current trunk of WordPress 2.5 now gives the user a choice of 2 color schemes for the Admin. "Classic" or "Fresh" Check this out:
The "Classic" look (also uses the classic blue in place of that red bar in the Dashboard).
The new "Fresh" Look (with that red bar in the Dashboard).
I really like this feature and they’ve made it pluggable too so more color schemes can be added to the list via plugins. I can’t tell you how much work is being poured into this release. Just suffice it to say that WordPress 2.5 will be worth the wait for those of you who are waiting…so to speak.

I believe It’s staying. It’s a great nifty feature, and can’t wait for this baby to be out!
Posted 13 Mar 2008 at 8:49 pm ¶I know what you mean. Just running the trunk builds is torture enough. I think it would be great if someone could write up a plugin that would allow the site owner to make up their own color pallets for the admin. Heck, it’s only four colors.
