I wanted to post a few “before and after” pics of the new quilt shop before I turned in for the evening. Laurie and I (especially Laurie) have been working hard the last week to get ready to open on June 1st and we actually made it! So here’s some of the results…
Front of shop before:

Shop front after:

Laurie even painted her new mail box:

“Wall of Quilts” before:

“Wall of Quilts” after (with the Cobble Mountain Hammock Chairs hung up):

Counter area before:

Counter area after:

The “Kitchen” area before (left corner):

The “Kitchen” area after Laurie finished it (with some of her stained glass as well):

And towards the back of the shop with the “toy” department at the left and the food shelf (all locally made):

Whew! That’s has to be the most photos I’ve ever put on this blog in one post! And for those of you that are wondering, she makes everything you see in these photos with the exception of the food items and the hammock chairs from start to finish right in the shop itself (although she does weave the seats for the Cobble Mountain “single” chair on the left plus she’s the only dealer in the Northeast Kingdom area). Nothing from China here I can promise you that.
Okay…time for bed. We’re tired!
There’s nothing fun about moving an entire retail store. I’ve done it three times so I sympathize. It looks great! Now rest and enjoy.
Catch Her – Guess what? We moved yet again. This time to rather large store front.

We had to ask for help this around though. Age has finally cuaght up to us enough where we couldn’t do the whole thing ourselves. Still, we made the move in 8 days.
Hey Catch,
I’ll pass that on to Laurie and thanks! Obviously you know what we had to go through (3 times?). To be honest it wasn’t as tough as setting up the first version of the shop at the old location where we had to build everything from scratch including the counter and all the displays. We even had to plug the holes in the walls and paint out everything. The new location was already finished out for us including a new set of doors and new windows. Still, it’s no fun that’s for sure although I’m very glad she’s out of that old place.
