I don’t iGoogle
I’m boring…I admit it.
I don’t often admit to such things but…
…I’m finally admitting it–
…I’m boring.
And… .
..I don’t iGoogle.
It scares me.
I don’t even sign in unless I want to look at my AdSense or Google Reader…
…and when I’m finished…
I sign right back out again.
It’s just the plain-old-boring "not-signed-in" Classic Google home page for me.
That way…
Nobody’s watching (sshhh!).
I did actually sign into iGoogle today (don’t tell…)…
…just to see if it’s changed at all…
…since the last time I signed in.
They had this new "Canvas" thing going on…
…and they call it a "Platform" instead of a "Portal".
That scared me…
So I signed back out.
And cleared my cookies…
and my history.
Now they can’t see me.
Cause I turned out the light…
…also.

I’m curious about the Adsense stuff – can you make it worthwhile or is it just for kicks?
I can’t honestly say I’ve put forth much of an effort AdSense-wise so my returns reflect that (not much). However, I know of those who manage to get that $100.00+ check every month by not only having an AdSense “Skyscraper” ad in their sidebars but a banner ad above each single post and one in the footer and header as well. By what I understand, it takes having more than one site, all sites well trafficked and regular daily posting to at least 2 of them to make AdSense work.
I’ll readily admit though…I’m advertising-impaired. There’s more lucrative avenues to pursue in ads other than AdSense that I’m just too lazy(?) to look at.
You absolutely crack me up! A computer whiz like yourself afraid of iGoogle. I forgot about adsense, haven’t checked my account for ages, don’t think I’ve made a penny.
What? Me scared? Never!
(On AdSense–Bet you did)
Ok I just checked and I’ve made $14.06 at this rate it will be another year before I hit $100.00 which is what it takes to get a check.
Now you made me go and check…$39.65…and I’m not going to tell you how long it took me to get that much.
I tend to have the same behaviour, just logging into Google to check adsense and what not, then logging out again. As you say, you never know who’s watching =)
