We’re apologize for the interruption in service you might have experienced over the last 24 hour period. We try our best not to have these things happen but machines (and people) being what they are and all that.
In this case, somebody dropped a can of used DB motor oil (with all sorts of those horrid little metal non-optimized shavings) into the database canister while the cover was open during regular maintenance thereby gumming up the works something fierce.
The entire database had to be removed, taken outside, sprayed liberally with DB DeGrease™ and hosed down thoroughly. Once the database was completely dry and placed back into the canister, the valve train had to be carefully lubricated with WDB-40™ before bringing back up to speed (we watched the RPMs very carefully during each phase of restart and and subsequent spin up).
The database is currently operating at nominal parameters and we foresee no further difficulties (we sacked the guy that dropped the damn motor oil).
Thank you for your patience in this matter and we look forward to your further patronage.
Sincerely,
The management.

Your excused was sorta busy myself, getting younger!
Hey, I see the little smiley face in the beans after all, must have missed it before.
janeywan,
Getting younger? C’mon now, you’re beautiful enough already. And that smilely face is just me lookin’ at ya’.
Last night I tuned in and there it was, a lovely post announcing your arrival in the world. It had certain purity of thought.
I did leave a witty and intelligent comment now lost to us all.
After a few glasses and supper I began to wonder if it was something I said.
I assume it is safe to go to breakfast now?
KevinB
By all means, have breakfast but I’m already assuming you have by now. I did see your witty and intelligent comment but unfortunately, it was banished to the nether regions when I imported my backed up database. So, no…it wasn’t something you said…it was something I did (gummed up DB had to be redone from scratch).
Yeah.. I just had a birthday, thought I was 53, found out I’m 52. weee! Thanks for the complement.
Oops. Had a Charlie Chaplin moment did we?
I have no idea what any of that meant, but it didn’t sound good. At the risk of having something thrown at my head, I’m lovin’ the new look
K8: More like Laurel and Hardy and the Three Stooges combined.
English Mum: Don’t feel too bad, I don’t understand it either. Glad you like the look. I kidnapped a theme author and held him at gunpoint until it was finished.
