Need Your Good Thoughts for a Sick Cat

We have a sick cat on our hands that needs your good thoughts sent his way. This is the last feline out of our four that we’d ever think would get sick. But sick he is.

Churchill

This is Churchill, our 20 lb, full of muscle and gentle of disposition furry buddy. Actually the not-so-old boy is a purebred called a French Chartreux. He was picked up as a stray by my honey’s youngest daughter about 4 years ago when he was just a kitten and was given to us a year a few months later when she moved to place that didn’t allow pets.

For 3 years now he’s been healthy as a horse (and almost as big as one) until a two weeks ago when he stopped eating. He came out of it a few days later only to fall back within a week’s time. Yesterday’s trip to the vet gave no clue as to what was wrong. Extensive blood work showed nada so there was nothing to do but rehydrate and stuff stuff him full of antibiotics. The only abnormality that was found was that his blood serum and stomach rheum showed a bit yellow but his blood work showed no liver problems at all.

Damn!

So he’s back home, weak as hell, drinking but still not eating. So if you could, I’m asking you to send your good thoughts and wishes to our furry buddy in hopes that he can pull out of this mysterious sickness and get well again. Right now it seems that’s all we can do for him.

Thanks.

  1. Ahh I’m sorry to hear about Churchill, it’s just awful when our furry friends are sick and there’s nothing we can do. Sending good thoughts along the way…keep us posted and good luck!

  2. That was weird….first message just went to a white page when I hit submit comment. Let’s see if this one works.

Sorry to hear about Churchill, it’s just awful when our furry loved ones are sick and there is nothing more we can do than just sit and wait. Sending good thoughts along the way…hang in there!

  3. Hi Elaine,

Thanks for your well wishes. I’d feel pretty bad if anything happened to him.

There was a problem with the latest update to WP SuperCache (0.8.7) that caused the blank page. Donncha and I were trying to figure out what was going on. I’ve since reverted back to version 0.8.6. If this (logged out) comment posts then I know at least this much is okay.
