I swear I’m going nuts, bonkers, loopy, whatever. Seems like I’m waiting on just about everything right now. The bank, the realtor, the appraisal results (which should have been in last week and weren’t)–wait-wait-wait-wait!
I’m even waiting on phone calls that will tell me how much longer I’ll have to wait!
This is a dangerous situation for me as I tend to do foolish things in these kind of “hurry up and wait” situations. Like installing pre-release operating systems on my poor old computer and beta builds of WordPress on my poor old blog. And now I’m waiting for the next builds of those pieces of software to show up as well.
And all of the above is coming out in May! The new OS, the new WordPress, the closing on our new house–everything!
But now I’m just waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and…
Maybe I should just shut up and read the news?
Can you please wait just a little while, as I have to think up something clever to write?

Oh, what the heck, why not? I’ll just tack you on the list. Makes for an even half-dozen that way. Wait…the mail’s in. Something from the IRS?!? Hell’s bells! So now I’m maybe waiting on an audit?
Hi Kirk ~ It could be worse you know….You could be waiting in vain for a flight out of Europe, because of a volcano cloud! You see, you feel better now, don’t you? I don’t know about you, but I’ve waited for many flights in my lifetime, but this is truly bizarre and I definitely feel for anyone impacted by this odd occurrence. Of course, you might be wondering how I made the leap to this subject – easy really, your title prompted it!
Hang on in there my friend. You need a lot of patience to get through a real estate transaction. Hopefully you’re being kept in the loop and know what’s going on, (even when there’s nothing going on), I’ve found that helps.

Thanks, Denise. I feel much better now. It does irk me a bit though when I’m required to pay a significant amount of money for an appraisal up front ‘As-Soon-As-Possible’ but they can get around to doing the appraisal and getting said appraisal back to the bank at their leisure. Just part of the process I know but it’s still annoying nonetheless.
But at least I’m not waiting for a flight in Europe.
I’m with you on the upfront appraisal fee. Here in Iowa the appraisal is not an upfront cost, it gets paid at closing. My son bought a house in Rochester MN last year and he had this upfront fee too. I think you’re right, if they want it right away, the least they should do is perform the task in a timely manner! I’d find it exceedingly annoying in your shoes too…. (Although waiting days on end for a flight in Europe is still worse.;-)
