Two days to go. Pack something!

Yup, we’re down to two days and counting for closing on the new place and the start of the long process of moving. Believe me, both vehicles will be fully packed the night before so we can go from closing to the house and start the process. I have this distinct feeling that I won’t be able to see out the back of the old Cherokee for the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Tomorrow afternoon is the “walk-through” just to make sure the house and property hasn’t suddenly taken a hike into the next county or been abducted by aliens looking looking for a good deal in housing. Then, if everything is still in it’s proper place, we’ll head to the apartment  and start stuffing boxes into our rigs.

Knowing us I’m sure we’ll overdo it on the physical end of things so we’ll be creaking at closing time on Friday.

The next few weeks are going to be rather hectic what with moving, setting things up, utilities moved over, etc, etc, so I will probably be away for fairly long stretches of time until things get settled down some (even more than I have already). To be honest about it, short of winning the lottery, I never ever thought I’d become a homeowner again. On the other hand, I’ve always found that what you expect is going to happen and what life actually throws your way is often two very different things indeed.

Note: Please excuse any typos…I’ve been called to supper. :D

  1. Exciting stuff Kirk. Glad it’s happening and the waiting is over. Hope the first thing you do, (before you start unpacking), is to start on that weeping willow.

Yes, I agree, life doesn’t always serve you up what you expect. It’s okay though on days like these though, isn’t it?

Happy days to both of you. (And I know I’m wasting my breath here, but don’t overdo it!)
