I need a flying car

It never fails. After months of not having to drive to the VA the time always comes back around where I seem to be visiting said facility/facilities, (local or the campus in Boston, MA) a dozen times within a two month period. Okay, maybe not as much as a dozen but it sure seems that way.

In the last 3 weeks I’ve been twice to my local VA (2 hours away) and once to the Boston campus (5 hours away). Now I’m scheduled for 2 more appointments to my local VA, one tomorrow and one on the 14th, and one more to Boston on the 21st. I swear all these trips are making me sick.

I think it’s time to look into one of those flying cars.

Flying car

I wonder if this would fit through the Callahan Tunnel?

  1. Well Kirk, I do sort of feel your pain. With all the time I spend in the car in this really hot weather I’ve decided it’s time they got that beaming thing licked. I’d love to just close my eyes and show up somewhere else.:-)

    • Denise – I actually broke down and used the air conditioner in my old Jeep Cherokee on a return trip from the VA last week (when it was really hot and humid). I haven’t used it more than twice in the last 4 years that I’ve owned the vehicle and I wasn’t sure it would work at all. Lucky for me it worked like a charm.

Transporters? Would be nice but I’m afraid we’ll just have to wait. Maybe in our second life?

  2. Sorry to hear of your health issues that keep you on the road. Been reading/hearing alot about VA care in the news these days.
Maybe sometime you can share your thoughts? I’m nosy like that.

    • Sixty – To be truthful about it, I’ve seen quite an improvement since I first joined the VA in 2001 but the last couple of years have really shown a difference. From infrastructure to individual patient care things have improved quite a lot at my local VA. I’ve seen somewhat the same thing at the Boston, MA campus but at a slower pace since the campus is so large and spread out. I might write up a post about the subject when I get some time so no problem being nosy.
