Okay, so it’s been few and far between as far as posts go lately–I apologize. With the new house and all I find myself becoming more and more distracted from my writing by things that just need doing around here.
It seems that no sooner have I mowed our rather substantial lawn that it needs mowing again. Then the wood that has to be moved into the woodshed before the Fall arrives which isn’t moving by itself (I’m working on it). And the 40 year old stockade fence that needs patching and propping up until I can replace it (I’m working on that too). And certain windows where the paint needs touching up (haven’t touched ‘em yet). And the trips to the VA that keep interrupting me (next one’s to Boston for crissakes!).
And this…
And that…
And the other thing…
It’s enough to make your hair turn gray and since it’s already gotten a head start on that area (get it?), I certainly don’t need any help. So please bear with me whilst I attempt to keep up with the chores and a hold of my sanity at the same time. I have no doubt that I’ll succeed, at least as far as the chores are concerned, but if the sanity goes by the wayside then it should just make any future posts all that much more interesting, yes?
And on that note–I have things to do.
I’ll be in the waiting room.
Catch Her – Thanks so much for waiting. I’ll send out some coffee and donuts then. By the way, what would prefer for lunch?
Aah the joys of homeownership Kirk! My yard looks like a jungle with all the rain. I certainly feel your pain.
As long as you’re providing coffee and donuts I’ll hang out in the waiting room too. Although, if it’s not too much trouble I’d prefer tea…;-)
Denise – Tea it is then. Anything to oblige. Would you prefer scones or crumpets with that?
You read my mind Kirk. Scones with lashings of butter sounds wonderful to me.
Donuts for me. Entenmann’s Chocolate, if possible. Anything but Krispy Kreme — which are neither krispy nor kremey.
By the way, I will be checking my coffee for hairs. (Clarence Thomas told me to do that, although he usually found them on cans of Coke.)
FYI: My wife does all the lawn-mowing in our yard. The minute I get near cut grass, I start sneezing. I guess I’m just a delicate, city flower.
Larry – No problem about the donuts but I included some from our local bakery as well. Hope you like them. No guarantees about the hairs though since we have 4 cats. No worries though–they’re indoor cats and we keep them nice a clean.
And sorry I missed you. Health hasn’t been that great lately and has kept me from checking the comments on a regular basis.
