Russian Subs Off East Coast a Surprise?
In case anyone missed the big headline today, the US (Navy, most likely) has “discovered” that two Russian Akula class fast attack subs have been patrolling approximately 200 miles off the east coast of the United States.
Oh, really? What a surprise.
Russian officials responded vehemently to accusations that they were dabbling in Cold War-style cat-and-mouse manoeuvring [...]

People living longer | Thursday ponderings
I read an article in the New York Times today that stated that researchers have discovered an antibiotic that appears to prolong life in mice:
Rapamycin treatment had the remarkable effect of extending life even though it was not started in the right dose until the mice had lived 600 days — equivalent to a person [...]
I have this book you see
I have this book. It’s a rather lovely book you see and it came in the mail just the other day after traveling all the way from the UK to my doorstep.

Anybody who has ever commented on a blog and happens to also have their own blog as well, knows exactly what this is. Name, Email Address, Website–we all know this so well we don’t even think about it anymore…until [...]
Host changed PHP engines with no notification.
For anyone that has a WordPress blog hosted by Bluehost, they’re currently busy switching over to PHP 5 and doing away with PHP 4 altogether and as of this post, they have not notified anyone of this in any way shape or form.
This is going to break a large portion of WP blogs hosted by [...]
Windows Live Writer Beta 2 is Here!
Praise the lord and pass the admonition, the new Live Writer is finally here! And of course I had to make a test post just to make sure it worked. The install went without a hitch although I uninstalled beta 1 before hand just in case.
The first problem I encountered was not related to [...]
Spring Cleaning the Blog
A few changes have occurred here over the last few days in attempts to streamline the backend of things. What most folks may not realize when they visit my little corner of blogdom is that there is a heck of a lot of content that has gone into Justhinkin’ over the last year and 4 [...]
