The Irish Have Their Say, Perhaps Save Themselves in the Process

Posted by Kirk M on 16 Jun 2008 | Tagged as: Times a changing

The Irish have had their say in the ongoing process of the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty much to dismay and obvious surprise of their government. I say surprise simply because the Irish government seemed to think that all they had to do was tell the electorate to “trust us” and vote “Yes”. Then when [...] Read more »

Pat Who for President?

Posted by Kirk M on 19 May 2008 | Tagged as: IMHO, Times a changing

Okay Folks I’ve finally made my decision. My Presidential candidate of choice is Pat Paulson. Yessir, I had a flashback to my younger years when good ol’ Pat ran for President and cried when he didn’t win and Mister, that’s honesty in politics if I ever saw it.
Now it’s not that the present day candidates [...] Read more »

Not Smart Enough to Vote for Obama?

Posted by Kirk M on 14 May 2008 | Tagged as: IMHO, Times a changing

Hillary Clinton won W. Virginia in what Adam Nagourney of the New York Times calls an electoral shellacking. Well, good for her, it’s about time. However, Barack Obama’s advisors are waving her win aside blatantly hinting at the fact the state is filled with white, uneducated(?!!?) people.

If you suffer from depression in anyway my advice to you is to not read the latest news unless it’s from the Good News Network or some other site like that. It won’t help your outlook that’s for sure. Even I’m starting to feel down in the dumps.
China is being it’s usual communist “squash the [...] Read more »

Recession? What Recession?

Posted by Kirk M on 08 Mar 2008 | Tagged as: Times a changing

Is there a recession in progress? Nah…what makes you think that?
Shortly after 8 a.m., the Fed announced yet another measure meant to unlock the struggling credit markets. At 8:30, the Labor Department released the unexpectedly poor jobs report. Almost immediately, the economists at JPMorgan Chase — who only last week had told clients they thought [...] Read more »

AT&T-How Not to do Business

Posted by Kirk M on 06 Feb 2008 | Tagged as: Just Foolin, The News, Times a changing

So what does a major telcom do when it finds it’s DSL business flagging? Why raise the price for those particular services by $5.00 dollars that’s what they do. AT&T is in the news again by making it’s already flagging, poor quality broadband services even worse by increasing the price of those services. Makes sense [...] Read more »
