I wish WordPress could do this
I have to admit that when it comes to browser bookmarklets, the WordPress “Press This” has evolved into a very usable, slimmed down, pinch hit publishing version of the TinyMCE editor that’s complete with all the basic features of the full WordPress editor at hand. Very usable indeed:
But man, I wish it had this kind [...]

WordPress 2.8.1 fixes 2.8 auto upgrade bug
WordPress 2.8 has a bug and a rather large one for those who have been unfortunate enough to have experienced it. And it has to do with the automatic (core) upgrade feature. Here’s an excerpt from Dougal Campbell’s recent post about this:
But the big problem driving a quick update is a bug in the core [...]

WordPress 2.8—up one blog and downed the other.
I have two blogs to my name. This one and another that I’ve done absolutely nothing with for the past few months despite my best intentions. Both have well maintained databases and clean, dusted, well swept installs. Both use most of the same plugins. I auto-upgraded both from WordPress 2.7.1 to 2.8 two days ago.

I’m not going to try to go over everything at the moment since this new version has been rebuilt from [...]

WordPress 2.5 RC2 Hits the Streets
For those brave souls who have been running the "bleeding edge" builds or WordPress 2.5 RC1, WordPress RC2 has been released and is ready to be downloaded. I’m not going to provide a download link for those who haven’t already seen this in their Dashboard’s for the following reason:
Warning: If your using the Simple Tags [...]

Whoops!
Forgot to throw the switch on the Maintenance Mode plugin when I updated to the latest 2.5 trunk build. It also pays not to try to login before the "wp-includes" folder is uploaded. Makes for all sorts of worrisome PHP warnings. I don’t make these mistakes very often but when I do I go whole [...]

DoFollow Spam and Other Comment Type Improvements
Within the last several months there’s been a change in the comment spam that’s plagued bloggers ever since the dregs of society first found out how they could benefit from leaving their crap in the comment sections of posts. You know the type; 20 offers for prescription medications along with another 15 offers to [...]
