Another storm on it’s way.

After a mostly warm and rainy winter so far it looks like we may actually get some real snow up here. The weather report is calling for anywhere from 6 to 10 inches in the general area by the time it's all over. Alright now, I know that it's not a lot compared to what they've been getting out in Colorado for instance but it's something! We haven't even had the slightest chance of making a decent snowman all winter and the snowmobiler's have been holding snow dances and seances out in public for heavens sake. I even saw a group of the more fanatical ones performing pagan style rituals around several snowmobiles that were laid out in a pentagram the other day.

Seems to me that things are becoming a bit too serious.

The ski areas seem to be doing alright. They've been making snow every chance they get and what is rain down here is snow up on the mountains so no problem there. The biggest problem is with all the businesses in area that depend on the snowmobiler's for a large portion of their yearly income.

The motels, restaurants, midi-marts and such that are right off the trails haven't had a lick of business from those with snow-machines this year since the trails are all bare. Might as well be mid-fall around here as far as this winter's concerned and some of these small businesses just might not make through the rest of the year due to lack of winter trade. This is all too sad especially when you realize that the ones that don't make it won't be there to offer fuel, food, supplies, warmth and shelter for those who have been on the trails when it does snow.

If this is a prelude of what's to come due to all this global warming business then I don't think that anyone really has grasped the implications of the thing.
