The Walk Did Me In

Laurie and I took a walk down by the waterfront this evening, the sky was absolutely beautiful with the mountains on either side of the lake (nearly 30 miles long extending into Canada) against the backdrop of all those wonderful clouds. This was sure to make some real nice shots.
So where’s the camera?
Of course after we got down there I realized that I had left my camera on the kitchen table and yes…the scenery was all I hoped it would be. Guess I’ll just have to make do with the memories but I was hoping I could share some of this with you folks as well. There’s always a next time though.
Upon arriving home, I had planned to start on a couple posts I’ve been meaning to do unfortunately, after the busy work day and the walk, all I accomplished was just about falling asleep at the keyboard. At that point I remembered what Laurie had said to me at breakfast this morning. She told me that just because the new pain medication was working and that I was feeling a bit better didn’t mean I could just go off and attempt to go through the day like I was twenty-something again. A bad habit of mine which often gets me into trouble and bed at the same time. Of course this had to be the busiest week so far out of a a very busy month at work and it wiped me out.
So no use trying to write up a post that requires thinking and being awake on my part. I need to get it through my thick skull that I have to take it slow and do it one day at a time, one thing at a time. Amazing how life never stops requiring you to adjust to new situations, age not withstanding. I can at least understand that. My life has been one heck of a ride so far, having to adjust all the way through and I don’t anticipate it changing now that’s for sure.
I just have the hardest time learning how to “take it easy”.
See you all tomorrow.

I can sympathize. I went for a walk with my daughter the other night and woke up feeling like I’d been hit by a truck.

Hi Lisa,
“Hit by a truck” is a standard phrase these days between my wife and I. “Backed up and rolled over me again” is another we occasionally add on to it. I’ve run into your comments at various blogs I visit so it’s good to see you on here so…welcome to Just Thinkin’.
