And now the snow blower is busted

Posted by Kirk M on 14 Dec 2007 | Tagged as: Life at home

In light of my previous post I’ll just add that shortly after I published that post I bundled up and went out to the garage to fire up our old (newly rebuilt last year) snow blower and didn’t get one foot into the snow when I realized that the auger was not moving. Too make [...] Read more »

Waiting for more snow

Posted by Kirk M on 14 Dec 2007 | Tagged as: Life at home

Seems like it’s been snowing since December rolled around and there’s a good reason to feel that way–it hasn’t. At least that’s the impression everyone around is getting here in Newport and the surrounding area. And today (and last night and the night before etc) doesn’t help any.
First it was snow showers that over [...] Read more »

First Snow of the Season

Posted by Kirk M on 15 Nov 2007 | Tagged as: Life at home

Well here it is finally. The first snow of the winter and November has lived up to it’s reputation around these parts. Up here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, we don’t pay much attention to any of the “official” dates of seasonal change. The official day of Spring for instance can be 10 below [...] Read more »

The weather looks like it’s about to clobber the Northeast Kingdom with a good old fashioned Nor’easter and this time it looks like it means it! The weather forecast is calling for heavy snow all through tomorrow with the storm ending sometime in the wee hours of Thursday morning—maybe. Perhaps as much as 26″ of [...] Read more »

Heading to St. Johnsbury

My company (a Home Medical Equipment provider [HME]) is opening a 10th branch store in St. Johnsbury, VT or St. J as folks around these parts call it, and my manager has been appointed as manager of that store also. So 2 to 3 times a week he does the 45 minute trip over the [...] Read more »

Tis The (cold) Evening

Posted by Kirk M on 30 Jan 2007 | Tagged as: Just Thinkin, Life at home

It’s late evening here in Stove Pipe City and it’s a balmy 4 degrees below zero outside and calling for a max low temp of 6 below before the sun comes up which is much warmer than what it has been (it was 14 below last night). And I just read an article on that [...] Read more »

Weather gone crazy

Posted by Kirk M on 19 Jan 2007 | Tagged as: Just Thinkin

Such weather we have been having this winter. Not just up here in the Northeast Kingdom where it's recently been more like late fall until a few days ago but just about everywhere else as well.
Michigan getting dumped on with 270,000+ without power just a few days ago, Oklahoma full of ice and snow and [...] Read more »
